Laura Bouman

Laura Bouman, 1997, grew up among vehicles. Cars, motorcycles they always have been there. Her relatives, friends, and herself were driving them or tinkering on them, as if they were technical extensions of their bodies. Through installations with sculptures, photo's and video's she bridges this connection, reflecting on identity and ideas. Using the vehicle as a tool to reflect on the past and the present, Laura perceives them as a vessel holding memories. The topic vehicle comes together in an interdisciplinaire practice. In a playful manner, Laura provides a perspective on our connection with the world of vehicles.
